China’s imports tighten nickel market

China’s imports of unwrought refined nickel reached a multiyear high in September and October, with the country posting the highest monthly figures since December 2017. Imports in September and October were 35,882t and 34,809t respectively - the highest since December 2017’s 41,315t. Chinese imports during the first ten months of this year totalled 209,365t, up by 96.27pc on the year and the highest for the period since 2016.
