India’s Ather Energy to set up second EV scooter plant

Indian electric vehicle (EV) scooter manufacturer Ather Energy has commissioned its second manufacturing plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu state, and plans to focus on lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery manufacturing. The proposed plant will double the company's manufacturing capacity to 400,000 units/yr from 120,000, enabling it to cater to the growing demand for its 450x and 450plus scooters.
