OMC raises chrome ore prices for October

Indian state-controlled mining company OMC has increased its chrome ore base prices for the October tender, a move that is likely to help ferro-chrome producers maintain their offers amid muted demand from domestic stainless steel mills. In its new tender, OMC has set the base price for 48- 49.99pc grade ore from its South Kaliapani mines at 21,206 rupees/t ($281.80/t), up from Rs17,383/t in its second September tender. It is offering 50-51.99pc grade ore from its Sukrangi mines at Rs22,089/t, up from Rs18,067/t in the previous tender.
