China raises 2021 rare earth production quotas

China’s ministry of industry and information technology(MIIT) has increased its production quotas for rare earthoxides by 20pc from 2020 and by 27pc from 2019 to 168,000tin 2021.The increase is largely attributed to rapid growth in rareearths demand from the main downstream sectors, includingmagnet, polishing powder, catalyst, hydrogen storage andother application industries.
