Metal futures: Markets down on PMI, dollar

Base metal prices on the London Metal Exchange (LME) fellin Thursday's official morning session following an unexpected contraction in the official reading of China's manufacturing activity and a strong dollar which hit a one-year high. The three-month LME copper contract fell by 2.1pc to$9,021/t, while Comex’s next most active month coppercontract lost 2.6pc to close at $4.09/lb.Three-month LME aluminum dropped by 2.2pc to$2,867/t.
