China: Lower output lifts FeCr, Mn alloys

Prices for ferro-chrome and manganese alloys rose further inthe past few days following output reductions in the majorproduction hubs caused by the country's energy consumptioncurbs. Argus assessed prices for 50pc grade alloy higher at 11,000-11,500 yuan/t ex-works today, or Yn22-23/kg ($1.54-1.61/lb) for contained chromium, compared to Yn10,500-11,000/tex-works on 28 September, on higher purchase prices fromsteel mills following output cuts in the major productionhubs of Inner Mongolia, Guangxi and Guizhou from electricity supply shortages.
