Drillship or bust?

More than 80 drillships are in operation across the world from the Gulf of Mexico to the South Atlantic.The ships will also play a significant role in Shell's developing plan to drill in the relatively shallow waters of the Arctic, which was recently rubber stamped by the Obama administration. Self-propulsion and a much lower build cost are both factors that recommend drillships to oil companies, but so far they have not been utilised in the North Sea.
