Zinc in July

The sudden jump of inventories in mid June has imposed much pressure on zinc price in the world market. At the start of July, LME 3-month zinc contract followed the downward trend in June, but falling with a faster step. At that time, many market participants were not optimistic about the price. And zinc price kept fluctuating between 1,170 US dollars /t and 1,250 US dollars /t for the whole month. The price had twice sharp rise toward 1,250 US dollars /t, but failed. The highest price of 3-month zinc contract was 1,245.5 US dollars /t (July 12) and the lowest 1,170.5 US dollars /t (July 18, 19) in the month.
