Gross refinery inputs in the US decreased by 64K b/d in week to June 18.

Data from the US EIA indicated that refinery operations declined due to downturns in three of the country's five PADDs. The nationwide average utilization rate was a two-week low of 92.2%—a 0.4-percentage-point decrease from the previous week and 12.4 percentage points higher than the average of the 52 weeks to June 18. A Reuters poll of nine analysts, however, had shown an average forecast for a 0.5-percentage-point increase in refinery utilization over the week. Average nationwide gross refinery inputs were down by 64K b/d to 16.678MM b/d while average nationwide crude inputs slid by 225K b/d to reach 16.112MM b/d.
