COMEX copper falls slightly on dollar push, less China buying

COMEX copper futures dipped slightly May 4 trading, as the US dollar pushed higher and amid signals that China’s appetite for industrial metals had cooled. Copper for July delivery, the active month, dipped 0.70 cent to close at 452.15 cents/lb, while the May spot contract also shed 0.70 cent to 453.60 cents/lb. The dollar advanced to the lower $1.20 level against the euro from the upper $1.20 range earlier in the day.
