Magnesium recycler AMACOR compels Alliance response in trade secrets case

US secondary magnesium producer Advanced Magnesium Alloys Corp. (AMACOR) has obtained a court order from the US District Court for the Southern District of Indiana compelling Canadian competitor Alliance Magnesium to provide more information in the company’s lawsuit alleging Alliance conspired with AMACOR’s former vice president in obtaining trade secrets, the company said April 23. The April 19 court gave Alliance 14 days to provide certain “communications” such as emails, and other documents not provided in answer to a number of discovery questions, including production manuals and business plans, as well as information on its investment or financing commitments received in which the former vice president, Alain Dery, played any role.
