The price of 58%-60% Cr high-carbon ferrochrome imports in China was rangebound in the week to Feb. 10 leaving Platts assessment unchanged at 100-101 cents/lb CIF. However, the market has climbed 25.50 cents/lb over the last month, driven by production cuts in China amid attempts to rein in pollution levels and power supply constraints in certain regions. Additionally, higher coke prices and freight rates and container shortages have also put upward pressure on the market, sources said.
