US Gulf Operators Assess Damage in Ida’s Wake

Hurricane Ida tore through one of the most heavily developed parts of the US Gulf of Mexico energy complex on Sunday, forcing the shut-in of much of the region’s refining capacity and nearly all of its oil and gas production. Fuel supplies to the US East Coast were also disrupted by a shutdown of segments of the Colonial Pipeline system ahead of the storm.
