'Optimism’Sets In for Long-Suffering Western Canadian Producers

Western Canadian gas production and prices are set to surge as regional demand and export markets are the most bullish in years,a boon to producers that have been languishing for years.Analysts see Canadian pipeline exports to the US averaging 5.S billion cubic feet per day this year-a far cry from nearly 10.4 Bcf/d at their peak in 2002 but the first rise seen in five years,US Energy Information Administration(EIA) data show.Meanwhile,all major Western Canadian gas price markers remained well supported between C$2.70-C$2.90 per gigajoule($2.32 and $2.49 per million Btu),said RBN Energy analyst Martin King.
