Purpose To investigate via Monte Carlo simulations, the impact of scan subject size, antiscatter grid (ASG), collimator size, and bowtie filter on the distribution of scatter radiation in a typical realistically modeled third generation 16 slice diagnostic computed tomography (CT) scanner.
