India: Phosphate producers face negative returns

With a $203/t increase in phosphoric acid prices agreed this week with OCP for the second quarter and no respite in asking prices for ammonia, phosphate producers in India are facing negative margins. IFFCO is receiving two ammonia spot purchases, one of 12-13,000 t at $530-540/t CFR Paradip. This is believed to be the Leo Sunrise which arrived at Paradip 21 April to discharge 12,500 t for IFFCO. Yara loaded the cargo in Chittagong.
