Middle East: Expectations of India tender boost prices

Suggestions of an imminent Indian urea import tender and near constant price hikes elsewhere in the market led to an increase in the Middle East granular price for the week. Fertiglobe sold two lots of 40,000 t granular urea this week at $340/t FOB 26 January and then at $365/t FOB Ruwais late 28 January. Information pertaining to the latter deal was received after the Fertilizer Week price deadline (see methodology) and so was not included in this week’s range.
