ExxonMobil has announced plans to add two new members to its board of directors – including one with “climate experience” and another with “energy industry experience” – in a compromise intended to win over investors, just days before they are set to vote on a proposition put forward by an activist fund, which calls on Exxon to appoint four sustainability-focused candidates to its board, at the oil supermajor’s AGM this week.
