Hydro to sell aluminium rolling unit

Norwegian aluminium producer Norsk Hydro has agreed to sell its rolling business unit to private equity firm KPS Capital Partners for €1.38bn, the company said on 5 March. The sale covers seven plants and one research centre with a number of sales offices that employ about 5,000 people in Germany and Norway. The sale will strengthen Hydro's balance sheet and increase the company's broader focus on low-carbon aluminium solutions.
