Oil prices retreated on Wednesday despite a relatively uneventful Opec gathering. The market was slightly nervous as traders awaited the bloc’s deliberations, hoping for a rollover of the current supply cuts. “Rarely are Opec ministerial meetings described as non-events, but that is precisely the situation we find ourselves in this week,” PVM oil analyst Stephen Brennock wrote in a note (IOD Mar.31’21).
