LENGTH-WEIGHT RELATIONSHIP OF LETHRINUS LENT J AN AND NEMIPTERUS BIPUNCTATUS (VALENCIENNES, 1830) FROM WADGEBANK, SOUTH INDIA

Length-weight relationship was estimated in two species of perches occurring in the commercial landings at Wadge Bank during the period June 2014 - May 2015. The parameters 'a' and 'b' of the exponential length-weight relationship of the form W=aLb are presented for two species viz., Lethrinus lentjan and Nemipterus bipunctatus. The regression coefficient 'b' was found to be 2.906 in L. lentjanand 2.656 in N. bipunctatus. The relationship was found to beinsignificant comparing the slop value of two studied species namely L. lentjan and N. bipunctatus at the 1% level. It could be observed that negative allometric is evident for the both the studied species.
