Baosteel Zhanjiang completes hot tests at coke batteries

China's Baoshan Iron and Steel has completed hot tests at the new coke battery at Zhanjiang Iron and Steel in Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, Metal Expert learnt from the company's statement. On January 21, the company completed hot tests at the 800,000 tpy coke battery 3B, featuring 65 ovens with an oven height of 7 m. The hot tests at an identical coke battery 3A are scheduled for late February. After the new unit commissioning the coking capacity of the plant will reach 5 million tpy, including four operating batteries with capacity of 850,000 tpy each.
