North American jet fuel demand ended the year at 1.25 million b/d - the highest level since the pandemic struck in February. Air travel in the large domestic US market revived during the December holidays. Major carriers added more flights, lifting consumption above 1 million b/d. That was still down by 37% versus year-earlier. Canadian usage reached a 60,000 b/d plateau as border restrictions grounded most long-haul flights. Mexico’s demand revived to 51,000 b/d with an influx of tourists from the US.
