Australia’s Mercurius Biorefining could open its first commercial biojet fuel plant at Mackay in central Queensland within the next four years, according to the firm’s chief executive Karl Seck. Mercurius has developed new technology to turn cellulosic plant material into drop-in jet fuel and diesel and is currently in the process of build-ing two pilot plants in Australia (JFI Dec.11’17).
