Shrinking Regional Demand Infates Supply Overhang

European jet fuel stocks had fallen to 11.6 million tons by late November, showing a 16.5% surplus versus year-earlier. But the steep drop in regional jet demand infated the supply overhang. November fuel con- sumption plunged by 60% to 1.9 million tons due to ongoing travel restrictions that slashed air trafc rates. Spain accounted for most of the surplus held in onland tanks, after another Covid-19 wave deci- mated passenger infows.
