China Zijin Mining's H1 profit up 30.6% on year on high copper and gold prices

Southern China-based Zijin Mining Group has achieved mine-produced copper output of 230,710 mt (including 26,156 mt of copper cathodes and 37,546 mt of electro-deposit copper) in the first six months of this year, up 34.9% from a year earlier, according to the financial report released by the group on August 22. The rising copper output and high gold prices contributed to an increase in the group's profit in the first half of this year, the report said. The group realized mine-produced gold output of 20,237 kg over January-June period, up 5.9% compared to the same period last year. The gross profit of copper and gold businesses accounted for 37.4% and 38.7% respectively of the group's total.
