UPASI Tea Research Foundation's objection/suggestion to the Draft Notification of Ministry of Agriculture andFarmers Welfare banning 27 Chemicals (With reference to 7 Chemicals concerning Tea Crop)

The Ministry of Agriculture and FarmersWelfare, Government of India has come out with a Draft Notification CT-DL-E-18052020-219423 Extraordinary Part II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) No.1351, dated 18th May 2020, proposing a ban on 27 chemicals. This proposal will have a serious implications for the plantation sector in protecting the crop from a multitude of insects, pests, fungal pathogens and weeds.
