July gas futures fell into the $2.80s/MMBtu Tuesday. However, it might be a mistake to read too much into the slide, an EcomEnergy analysis said, as the market has been range-trading for the last two months. "While the seasonal trend still signals for higher [second quarter] prices, timing is starting to run out," the analysis said. "History shows that the prices trade to a seasonal high during Q2, setting that high three times during June and three during July in the last 12 years."
