Methods for Lowering Health Burden of Transportation Noise Analyzed

New research sponsored by the European Commission (EC) documents the predicted effectiveness of practical abatement measures that can reduce the health burden of noise from highways, rail, and aviation. It also examines existing measures taken by member states and how legislation could enhance implementation of measures designed to reduce the environmental burden of disease attributed to noise.
