The death rate due to aneurysm rupture has raised expressively in new patients in recent years. In this investigation, computational studies have been done to unveil the effects of blood flow characteristics on the evolution and rupture of the aneurysm in internal carotid artery (ICA). The key emphasis of this work is to present more clear details about the main causes for the rupture of the aneurysm. This article aims to exhibit the high-risk region on the aneurysm wall by evaluating of the pressure distribution and wall shear stress. Computational fluid dynamic approach is applied to simulate the non-Newtonian bloodstream inside the aneurysm. Detailed evidence is presented on the special effects of blood velocity and viscosity on the risk of the aneurysm rupture in ICA. Our findings indicate that the growth of the aneurysm is directly proportional to the orientation and location of the aneurysm. Obtained results show that AWSS inside aneurysm is about 45% less than AWSS outside the aneurysm.
