摘要

Reading a river for gold is one of the most important skills a prospector can have and understanding how erosion works in a river environment is an important part of that skill. This is because it's actually erosion that sets up why the rivers are what they are, including the formation of gravel bars, old bench deposits and other situations that lead to paystreaks and other gold deposits. Have you ever thought of why there are bends in a river in the spots where there are bends? Or why there are bedrock outcrops in the places where there are outcrops? Rivers are not just random and accidental; streams and other drainages are what they are because of the forces of erosion acting on the bedrock. We are going to take a look at all that and how you can use that knowledge to find more gold.
