Wood pellet loading at Riga port dips

Wood pellet throughput at Latvia's port of Riga decreased by 0.2pc in the first 10 months of this year compared with the same period in 2016 but the amount of wood chips loaded increased, port authority data show. Wood pellet loading at the port decreased by 2,200t compared with the 1.25mn t that were loaded in the first 10 months of last year. A total of 1,438,000t of wood pellets were loaded at the port last year but these volumes are unlikely to be exceeded by the end of 2017, the port authority said.
