China consults on latest draft of law to replace Decree 591

China’s Ministry of Emergency Management (MEM) is consulting on an updated draft of its new Law on the Safety of Hazardous Chemicals until 1 November. If approved, it will replace Decree 591 – the current overarching law governing hazardous chemicals – and will introduce significant changes for the management of these substances in China.
