Caracal sub group makes 'progress' on bioelution test for alloys under CLP

The European Commission has welcomed recent progress towards agreement between member states on using an in vitro bioelution method to classify alloys under CLP, following a Competent Authorities for REACH and CLP (Caracal) bioelution subgroup (CASG-Bio) meeting on 27 May. "If the discussion continues so constructively, we expect to obtain some agreement on the use of the suggested method to properly classify alloys and metal compounds rather soon," a Commission spokesperson told Chemical Watch.
