CMC reports strong Q2 FY 2021 performance

Commercial Metals Company (CMC), one of the leading US long steel producers, which also has long steel operations in Poland, reported an increase in its key financial indicators over Q2 FY 2021 (ended February 28, 2021) driven by strong performance of its segments. Despite a challenging environment of rising scrap costs and weather-related disruptions, the company managed to achieve record Q2 EBITDA of $171 million, up by 18% y-o-y and 9% q-o-q. It became possible thanks to the benefit of the CMC’s vertically integrated structure and “solid management of controllable costs,” according to the company’s statement.
