Russian scrap exporters optimistic despite lower prices

Export prices for Russian steel scrap continued to slide in late March amid weak demand and further downtrend in Turkey. A Russian exporter closed a deal in the Far East amid higher activity. Given extremely weak prices and demand for longs and semis in both Turkey and abroad, mills are hardly interested in import scrap bookings.
