PURPOSE: A potential late side effect of high-dose-rate (HDR) prostate brachytherapy combined with external beam radiotherapy (EBRT) is urethral stricture. The purpose of this study was to evaluate dosimetric parameters possibly contributing to stricture development, including dose to bladder base and D2cc(Gy) within 10 mm of prostatic urethra (D2cc 10 mm), which has, so far, not been reported in the literature.
