ChemChina buys stake in oil trader Mercuria

London-State-owned China National Chemical Corporation (ChemChina) has bought a 12% stake in privately owned trading company Mercuria in a move the Chinese company said would aid its expansion in the energy sector. Switzerland-based Mercuria said the deal strengthened its ties to China as an “energy and commodities partner.”
