South Korea to develop Abu Dhabi deposit

Seoul—A consortium of the UAE’s Abu Dhabi National Oil Company and two South Korean partners has established the commercial viability of an undeveloped UAE oil deposit, state-owned Korea National Oil Corp. said Wednesday. The onshore field is Area 1, an exploration and development block containing a cluster of four small oil reservoirs in southeastern Abu Dhabi, near the UAE emirate’s borders with Oman and Saudi Arabia.
