S-Oil to recover crude leaked from storage tank

Seoul—South Korean refiner S-Oil said on Monday that it plans to recover some 140,000 barrels of crude oil that has leaked from a storage tank at its Onsan complex on the country’s southeast coast. All the crude has been contained within the concrete structure around the tank so it can be recovered, a company official told Platts. A three-meter concrete structure, called a “dike,” built around the tank prevented the oil from reaching the ocean, he said.
