Vietnam’s Vung Ro plant to boost capacity

Hanoi—The Peoples Council of Phu Yen Province in central Vietnam has approved a proposal to double the refining capacity of the planned Vung Ro refinery to some 8 million mt/year (160,000 b/d). The council, the province’s legislative body, has the final say on large-scale projects in the area, and its vote effectively confirmed February’s approval by Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung to double the planned refinery’s nameplate capacity.
