Jakarta—Indonesian oil and gas facilities wereunaffected by a massive 8.6 magnitude earth-quake that struck off the west coast of northernSumatra April 11, officials at state-owned Per-tamina and upstream regulator BPMigas said.The earthquake struck 435 km (270miles) southwest of Banda Aceh in the northof Sumatra.“The Arun LNG facilities, our fuel depots,Plaju and Dumai refineries are unaffected,” saidPertamina’s spokesman Mochamad Harun.Arun NGL, the operator of the Arun LNGprocessing plant, has contractual commit-ments to supply LNG to Japan and SouthKorea. The company is owned by Pertamina(55%), ExxonMobil (30%) and Japan-IndonesiaLNG Company (15%).
