Devon Energy is on the prowl for a long- term strategic partner to explore and develop five emerging unconventional oil and gas plays in the onshore US. Devon holds 1.1 million net acres across five up-and-coming US resource plays in its so-called New Ventures program: the Tuscaloosa Shale in Louisiana and Mississip- pi, the Utica Shale in Ohio, the Mississippian Lime in Oklahoma, the Niobrara in Wyoming and Colorado and the Utica and A-1 Carbonate in Michigan.
