MARKET EYE: Asia Gasoil Eases on Formosa Restart

Traders in the Asia-Pacific region are adjusting to the restart by Taiwan's Formosa Petrochemicals of part of the Mailiao refinery that was shut down by a fire and explosion on Jul. 25. Formosa reopened one of its three 180,000 barrel per day crude distillation units last week. Reports suggest it plans to bring the other two units on line in the next two weeks or so, and to run the entire facility at roughly 400,000 b/d.
