Australian resources giant BHP Billiton reported an 86% jump in net profit to US$23.65 billion for the year ended Jun. 30, thanks mainly to higher commodities prices. Underlying earnings before interest and tax (Ebit) totaled $31.98 billion, up 62% and ahead of analysts' consensus expectations, while full-year revenues soared 36% to $71.74 billion.
