Ohio House passes bill that would hit ReC market

Ohio state lawmakers today approved legislation that would weaken the renewable energy certificate (REC) market, send- ing it to the governor, who has said he will sign it. The state House of Representatives voted 51-38 in favor of HB 6, a nuclear and coal bailout that would lower the state's renewable portfolio standard (RPS) to 8.5pc by the end of 2026 and abandon the solar carve-out next year. Governor Mike DeWine (R) said last week he supported the legislation.
