In the age of global connectivity, everything is possible with a click. This has caused a boom in the digital economy. Along with the convenience this has brought, it has led to cyber security, financial fraud and other issues. Preservation of sensitive data and information across geographically distant networks and across time zones has become a big challenge. The demand for globally synchronized networks is growing daily. The paper addresses the issue of time synchronization in financial markets and provides a review of time synchronization in Indian capital markets. The need for new regulations for Indian financial markets is also presented.
