Colombia has extended nationwide restrictions to contain Covid- 19 for a further two weeks, casting fresh uncertainty over the resumption of coal operations. President Ivan Duque said on 20 April that the lockdown will continue until 23:59 on 11 May, with only the manufacturing and construction sectors to resume activities earlier than that — on 27 April. Restrictions were originally set to end at 23:59 on 12 April before a first extension to 26 April was announced.
