US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) administrator Scott Pruitt is fighting to keep his job after a series of damaging revelations about his management, spending and ties to a lobbyist. Pruitt has strongly championed President Donald Trump's deregulatory push. He has worked to repeal the Clean Power Plan, delay smog standards, and scrap a controversial water rule. Industry executives have credited Pruitt with reducing their costs. But he is drawing scrutiny over his living arrangements, a salary increase for his political appointees and spending on first-class airline tickets.
