Delaware’s congressional delegation is asking the US EnvironmentalProtection Agency (EPA) to require power plants inupwind states to reduce NOx emissions.US senators Tom Carper (D) and Chris Coons (D), alongwith the state’s lone representative Lisa Rochester (D), saythe state cannot meet federal air quality standards if upwindsources continue to emit at current levels.“Downwind states like our home state of Delaware cannotclean up ozone pollution alone,” they wrote in a letter sentyesterday to EPA administrator Scott Pruitt. “In order for ourconstituents to breathe healthy air, upwind states must dotheir fair share to reduce ozone pollution.”
